At Get Kids Outside, we pride ourselves on our ability to help youth build a connection to the outdoors through enriching activities. Our educational youth camps provide kids the opportunity to learn in a natural, Vitamin D rich environment, while having first-hand, exciting, and educational experiences from mother Earth herself. The interactive camps we offer teach kids in ways that go beyond traditional classroom education, which is especially beneficial to kinesthetic learners.

Our camps encourage kids to enjoy learning and develop STEM skills by participating in fun activities that require an understanding of science, technology, engineering and math, and how they are integral to preserving our environment. For example, biology is taught through wildlife observation, engineering, math and problem solving are learned during challenge course activities (e.g., as aerial rope courses and environmental science is taught through survival skills education and camping (e.g., poisonous plants, safe water sources and weather patterns). By promoting learning through outdoor activities, we create a unique environment for kids to grow. Some parks also offer specific programs dedicated to STEM education and how it can be used to preserve our environment. Additionally, the STEM education they receive during our camps can encourage pursuit of and prepare them for college and future careers.

Our activities also help kids with their personal development by building their confidence and social skills. We help each kid succeed in our activities, which in turn, builds their confidence. Kids are also encouraged to interact socially throughout the camps, which helps them get comfortable interacting with other kids.

Also, studies show that building a connection for youth to the outdoors can be very beneficial to their overall physical and mental health and wellbeing.
