Alaska Adventure Youth 2025

August 4th - 10th, 2025

Overview

Have you ever wanted to see the glaciers, wildlife, and other natural wonders of Alaska? This is your chance! Our Alaska trip kicks off with a sled dog adventure, followed by an awe-inspiring hike up Exit Glacier, where you may just spot bears, moose, sheep, and goats!

Next up, we’ll hop in kayaks and paddle atop the waters of Resurrection Bay. Keep an eye out for fun-loving otters! The last two highlights of this trip are an adventurous cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park and hiking the Russian River Falls Trail.

This trip is one for the ages. We’ll have so many wonderful experiences in nature in just a week’s time!

Adventure Highlights

See Alaska’s wildlife, including bears, moose, sheep, and goats.

Alaska Adventure Itinerary

Fly to Anchorage Alaska and check into our Hotel for the evening

We will make the 2.5 hour beautiful drive down to Seward. Once we arrive in Seward, we will get to spend the afternoon with actual Iditarod dogs. We will get to see a dog demonstration and training exercise, have a sled dog ride, learn about the race, meet the dogs, and maybe if we are lucky get cuddles with the next generation racing puppies.

Wildlife

We will spend the day on one of the most rewarding hikes in Kenai National Park. This 8.2-mile hike will take us up and around Exit Glacier to the Harding Icefield. The trail can be steep at times but we plan on making this an all-day hike with picnic and lunch at the top. Be on the lookout for bears, moose, sheep and goats! This will not be a hike you forget!

Wildlife Steep Hikes

Today we will spend our time sea kayaking in Resurrection Bay. Departing from Lowell Point Recreation Area, we paddle south along the coastline toward the mouth of the Bay. Keep an eye out for fun loving otters, salmon-hunting eagles, and the occasional whale or elusive mountain goats. Along the way, enjoy the scenic view of Godwin Glacier on the eastern side of the bay. We land on the North Beach of Caines Head State Park, former site of the Fort McGilvray Boat Dock. Stretch out as we hike up to Fort McGilvray, where a postcard perfect view overlooks Cape Resurrection. Take a load off and enjoy the view as you eat lunch, snacks, and re-hydrate! The journey continues as we head back to Lowell Point.

Wildlife Kayaking Swimming/Snorkeling

Our 8.5 Hour Northwestern Fjord Cruise travels farther into Kenai Fjords National Park than any other cruise. Ideal for photographers, birders, and whale-watching enthusiasts, this adventure cruise explores the remote, untouched area of Northwestern Fjord in Kenai Fjords National Park. This cruise travels with a smaller group for a more intimate cruising experience, providing the best opportunity for up-close views of wildlife including humpback whales, orca whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, seabirds, otters, and more. The 8.5 hours spent on the water will fly by as the captain seeks out the best wildlife viewing in the area. You will spend time in front of the impressive Northwestern Glacier, an actively-calving tidewater glacier.

Wildlife Sailing/Cruising

Hike the beautiful Russian River Falls. This 5.1 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail is located near Cooper Landing, Alaska that features a waterfall and a good chance to see bears. Where the fish are, bears will follow! Black and brown bears both live here and sometimes appear on the river to scoop salmon from the water.

After our exciting day of fun, we will drive back to Anchorage, check into our hotel, clean up then go out for a great final dinner with the group and share all of our great memories with our new friends.
